Technologist education
Your ultrasound technologist has trained long and hard in order to give you the best possible experience and quality of pictures!
Ultrasound education is similar to nursing education: in both cases, individuals take classes before applying to their program, then study for either an associate's or a bachelor's degree, then sit for board exams. We are accredited by an organization called the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. If you are interested in learning more, the organization's website is located here.
Your sonographer may make it look easy, but they have worked hard for their skills and abilities!
Patients often say "I don't know how you know what you are looking at!" That was each of us too before our training. We study anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pathology, psychology, physics, math, and many course specific to ultrasound!
