Abdominal organs
Did you know that ultrasound is used to look at many organs and structures in the belly?
Some of the most common examples are the gallbladder and the kidneys, but ultrasound can also be used to view the liver, the appendix, the pancreas, and the spleen. In addition to these organs, there can be issues with other structures such as the aorta, which is the largest artery in the body.
Ultrasound can identify or rule out a wide variety of problems, which can include kidney stones, a gallbladder attack (called cholecystitis in medical terms), and cirrhosis of the liver. And that's just for starters!
