Vascular
Veins and arteries are parts of our bodies that we do not often think about, but there can be hamful conditions affecting these vessels.
Once again, ultrasound has a helpful role, along with other medical tests, in ruling out or diagnosing problems with the blood vessels. Some examples are blood clots (called "deep vein thromboses" in health care), or poor circulation to the feet, which can be an arterial problem. The carotid arteries in the neck and the abdominal aorta are other structures which can have disease, and for which ultrasound can be very useful.
